Our Thoughts

Our Thoughts - Mental Health

Where shall I begin? First, let’s have a little chat with ourselves. When you’re in transit to work, school or even home, we all speak to ourselves in thoughts. Let’s get this straight it’s not a bad thing at all, it’s something we do daily because we trust our thoughts.

The question we always ask ourselves is ‘why’, why does that a person hate me? why isn’t my idea going the way I want it, why don’t I just tell someone what’s happening and what I’m going through? Then the next question that will come after, who can I talk to?

The answer to your question is, think of your thoughts as an impenetrable safe that only yourself can get into because only you have the key/passcode, if you want someone to help you understand what you’re going through, you will need to hand them that key/passcode to your thoughts so they can try their best to help you. You also ask who could you open to your family, friends, work colleagues, neighbor or even your pet pig Darcy.

But seriously mental health is not a joke, the people who said they had felt stress at some point in their lives, 16% had self-harmed and 32% said they had had suicidal thoughts and feelings.

It’s one of the most important topic because we lose so many people to this stigma the percentage is high and in the past year, 74% of people have felt so stressed they have been overwhelmed or unable to cope.
